The East Moline BMX Speedway hosted the last round of the Illinois State Qualifiers yesterday before the State Championship in Rockford. The weather was not the best. There was a threat of thunderstorms and showers the whole weekend. It did not rain on Friday's race and started to rain early Saturday night and rained until early Sunday morning. Luckily the East Moline crew had the track tarped overnight and weathered the effect of the rain. Sunday the tarps came of, the crew work on areas of the track were water seeped under the tarps, and we were ready to go. They had 39 motos because a lot of people were scared away by the weather. I was all by myself for this race as the little assistant was at the 685 Designs home base making new BMX bags for next weekend in Evansville. Without the extra help was tough, but as always, I marched ahead and did what needed to be done. See ya in Evansville!
